Recently I was discussing with the CEO of a company and he was battling with so many issues low ROIs, Customer dissatisfaction, High employee turnover and so many more that I cannot even mention. Out of curiosity, I asked – When did all these start? I knew he would not have an answer as to the exacts but I asked notwithstanding. He really couldn’t go into all the details anyways there is a problem and it has to be solved.
During the chat I discussed the Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology with him and he was really excited at the prospect of turning his company around. He just wanted his organization back and better.
He wanted to block the wastes and save some costs. He wanted to have all his stakeholders happy which included the board, customers and even the employees.
It was simple for us to achieve because we worked with a methodology that has been tried and trusted. All we had to do was to use the DMAIC methodology:
Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control
During the project while carrying out a Root Cause Analysis, we found out that one of the major challenges was lack of Little improvements which led to a complete deterioration of the business processes and almost led to the organization going into extinction.
Are you one of such people who watch your processes breakdown as long as the cash is still rolling in? Do you think all is well just because the finance records says so? Then you might be making a big mistake because according to Clarence W. Barron – “Everything can be improved”. Little Improvements always help the organization in the long run.
